15 Unique Things to do in Southern Utah
While many people visit the area with the intent to visit the beautiful national parks nearby, there are also many local hidden wonders to explore! Below are some of our favorites. As always, feel free to contact us with any questions!

This is about 60 min north of the resort. Absolutely beautiful! Mini Bryce Canyon along Highway 12. Great bike trail along the side if you have bikes (if you need to rent an e-bike, check out Ruby's Inn)

Belly of the Dragon is about 20 minutes north of Kanab. Kind of a fun place for some fun pics! Not much of a hike, but you can go hike up the wash a ways, which is pretty. Great place to take kids!

Red Hollow is located in Orderville, about 20 minutes north of Kanab. Such a pretty walk! Big white sandhill about halfway that kiddos like to pay on, but make sure you go all the way to the end of the slot canyon!

Jackson Flat Reservoir is a great place to go fishing and kayaking in Kanab. It is also a great place to take kids! You can rent paddleboards and kayaks from ROAM Outdoor Adventure Co.

Kanab is home to several amazing, pet-friendly, hikes for everyone! In the link below you can find info on all local hikes. Hikes I would personally recommend are Bunting, Squaw, Mansard, and Greenhalgh.

Moqui Cave is a Sandstone structure once used by Anasazi people as shelter or food storage. There is also a natural history museum featuring Native American artifacts and a large collection of dinosaur tracks to explore. Kids Love this place! Don't forget to check out the gift shop.

Sand Dunes is about 20 min away from Kanab/Orderville. Great place to go and play on the dunes! Great place to take kids!

White Pocket and Buckskin Gulch are off the beaten path! They are both in the same area, so if you go see one, might as well go to the other one! We recommend a tour guide for White Pockets since a lot of people get lost and stuck out there, but if you're used to driving in sand, etc, you should be fine. Buckskin Gulch is an AMAZING slot canyon!

The Wave is a once-in-a-lifetime experience that is a must if you can get your hands on a permit! Details on getting a permit and information on the hike can be found in the link below. The Wave has stunning rock formations with jaw-dropping color.

Ok, these next 4 places are all on the way to Page, Arizona which is about 1 hour away from Kanab. If you're heading that way, these are all so cool to see along the way!
